Last week, I had the pleasure of attending the Meet the State event, where I had the opportunity to speak directly with our Governor Kristi Noem. During this event, we engaged in productive discussions about various issues facing our communities, my particular focus was on the low pay rates for our teachers. I was pleased to hear that the Governor and her team are already working on ways to improve teacher pay in the coming year.
One of the key takeaways from the event was the importance of diversifying our community tax base for sustainable growth. As a new resident of Clark County, for the past 10 years, I am keen to learn more about our community's strengths that have created such a wonderful and successful community and how to continue on using those strengths to improve for the future.
As a new mom, I was especially interested in the discussions on childcare and the challenges that families in our community are facing. I plan to gather more information and ideas to help improve the situation for families in our area. We more for our children and ourselves.
I am also working towards connecting our community leaders and creating a strategic plan to address the needs and wants of our residents in the future. I welcome any ideas, suggestions, or feedback from fellow community members as we strive to make Clark County a better place to live and work.
Reach out to the office at 605.880.7840 or any of our board members to bring up your needs, wants, and ideas.
