Businesses Benefit from Flexibility

Whether we like it or not, the experience of dealing with COVID-19 has forced us all to be flexible. Teachers had to quickly figure out ways to deliver distance learning, and parents had to adapt nearly overnight to home-based education. Faced with empty pews, churches creatively employed social media to share the Gospel. People worked from home, tried new ways of communicating, and generally made the best of a difficult situation.

Business owners, you’ve had to become very flexible too. Curbside pick-up, online ordering, social media, and gift card promotion are just a few of the new tools in your toolbox. You’ve done some great things! I’m right there with you in hoping life can “get back to normal” very soon, but I encourage you to stick with these new skills to be as flexible as possible for your customers.

I don’t know whether this restaurant intends to keep these new methods or not, but I sure hope they do. Their new flexibility was born out of necessity, but they certainly found some things that worked. They reached new customers in new ways and built some loyalty along the way.
